Classes for Expectant Parents |
* Prepared Childbirth Classes
This class will help you prepare for a more relaxed childbirth. Whether taking this class as first time parents or as a refresher course, you will learn exercises to prepare you for labor & delivery, how the body changes during pregnancy, what to expect during labor, when to call the doctor, breathing techniques and how to relax for an easier childbirth. This class is most effective when taken after the sixth month of pregnancy. Optional tour of LDR provided
Participants will need to bring 2 pillows to class.
Classes are 9:00am - 4:00 p.m. at Wadley Regional Medical Center - Education Center

* Breast Feeding Classes
Learn about the benefits, proper techniques and challenges associated with breastfeeding. Carlotta Endsley, Texarkana's only Certified Lactation Constultant, teaches this informative class. Moms may sign up as early as their 4th month of pregnancy.

* Infant Choking & CPR Classes
Excellent class for parents, grandparents and babysitters! Know how to protect your infant’s and or toddler’s precious life by learning the basic techniques to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

* Big Brother - Big Sister Classes
This class helps children 3 to 8 years of age prepare for the birth of a new member of the family. The children are taken on a tour of The Birth Place and are given gifts that designate them as the big brother or big sister of the new arrival. Recommended for no earlier than one month before delivery date.
Classes start at 4:00pm at Wadley Regional Medical Center - 3rd Floor, Maternal Child Classroom
