Emergency Services
In a crisis situation, you need help fast. At Wadley Regional, we’ve combined a team of doctors, nurses and technicians who work hand-in-hand to ensure that patients in need of emergency care receive the best medical attention possible. Wadley’s Emergency Department is uniquely staffed by board certified emergency medicine physicians and a dedicated staff of nursing personnel, all who are ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and ENPC certified.
Our examination and treatment rooms are equipped with state-of-the art emergency equipment, ready to handle situations involving minor care to the critically ill or injured trauma patient. Modern techniques in emergency and trauma care are employed to give our Wadley ER team every advantage when caring for the emergency patient. For example, blood clot-dissolving agents are often used successfully in the early treatment of cardiac crisis. In fact, Wadley Regional has an established chest pain protocol in place and a "door-to-drug" time that is significantly better than the national average.
Another innovation in emergency medicine, unique to Wadley’s ER, is sutureless wound closure using Dermabond. When applicable, this "no more tears" method of closing a wound is utilized. This new innovation in skin closure is really a big hit with patients of all ages, especially the children.
