Wadley has been the Birth Place of Texarkana for generations. With the area's most experienced birthing staff, Wadley has set a precedent for childbirth excellence in the Ark-La-Tex.
The treatment philosophy for newborns and children at Wadley is best described in three words...family centered care. An entire floor of the Medical Center is dedicated to the care of women and children. This allows the interdependence of staff and equipment in the Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) suites, Post-Partum rooms and suites, and three Nurseries - Newborn, Intermediate and Special Care Nursery.
Expectant mothers receive the utmost in birthing care and comfort in our beautifully furnished and spaciously designed LDR Suites, and Wadley exclusively provides around-the-clock, obstetrical and anesthesia coverage to expectant mothers.
Wadley's staff has supervised the delivery of more than 101,000 babies since its founding in 1900. A century of birthing experience has taught us the importance of immediate and continued mother-baby contact, as well as early father-baby-sibling bonding.
Each newborn arrival is celebrated as the Brahm's Lullaby sweetly plays throughout the Medical Center. Because the addition of a family member should be the ultimate highlight of family life, our Birth Place Club is designed to make each birthing experience unique. Beepers are available to expectant parents and to parents of hospitalized newborns, providing ease communication between family members and the Medical Center.
