The Wadley Behavioral Health Center of Texarkana is a 15 bed in-patient Geriatric Psychiatric Unit. The secured unit is located on the sixth floor of Wadley Regional Medical Center Texarkana,TX. The Wadley Behavioral Health Center provides the highest quality of in-patient psychiatric care for senior adults while allowing them to remain in a homelike environment. At the Behavioral Health Center, we are committed to providing exceptional mental health services which meet the needs of patients, families and referral sources. Our qualified professionals work together as a team to optimize success and ensure a safe, confidential and therapeutic program. With an emphasis on strengths, capabilities and management skills, each patient receives an individualized treatment plan that takes into account their level of functioning, life experiences and individual needs. 

Patients are provided private or semi-private rooms and a therapeutic environment to gain better understanding of themselves while promoting dignity, privacy and comfort. Our goal is to provide senior adults with a better quality of life by equipping them with the necessary tools to cope with daily challenges.

Admission Criteria

• Age 55 & Older
• Evidence of danger to self or others, or out of touch with reality
• Medically stable
• Voluntary, willing to sign-in
• Involuntary, requires court involvement
• Psychiatrist acceptance of patient
• Referrals are accepted 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
